Another great event to consider is Alive Outside’s Blessington Adventure Race on Sunday 20 June 2010. Taking place only 30 minutes from Dublin at Avon Rí, this race is ideal for those wanting to test their fitness or for those new to adventure racing as the course is safe and well marshalled.
The race consists of a 19km road cycle around Blessington Lake, a 5km forest trail run through Burgage Wood, a second 7km road cycle section back to Avon Rí and a final 2.5km run on a looped trail run along the lake shore and back to the Avon Rí finish line. Changing/showering facilities and post-race food/bar will be available so you’ll be able to celebrate in style. Entry costs €50 (early bird €40) for an individual and €90 (early bird €75) for pairs.
