WAR is back and promises not to disappoint! The third and final event for the Wicklow Adventure Race Series 2010 is due to take place in Glenmalure on 25 September and from the sounds of it, it’s going to be no walk in the park!
Participants can choose from two categories. The first consists of five stages covering 59km. Competitors will start the race with a 10km run over Kirakee Mountain followed by a 22km cycle over Shay Elliott and up Slieve Man, a 7.5km run up the Croaghanmoira Mountain, a 19km cycle over the Croaghanmoira shoulder and back to Glenmalure. The final stage will consist of a river run and obstacle course.
The second category is slightly tamer but again not for the faint hearted. The WAR Sport will cover a total of 30km. The three-stage race will comprise of a 10km run over Kirakee Mountain, a 22km cycle over Shay Elliott and back to Glenmalure and the river run and obstacle course.
