The new Basecamp Outdoor and Travel Store on Middle Abbey Street in Dublin will run an adventure racing information evening on 4 August 2010.
The event will feature guest speakers from various Irish international adventure racing teams who will explain the ups and downs and the dos and don’ts of adventure racing.
This is the first of a series of events that Basecamp will run on the recently refurbished second floor of its spacious 19th century building on Middle Abbey Street. This multi-functional space has been specially designed for the adventure community as well as for hosting launches and seminars. The space will also be used for yoga and other fitness activities.
The next event planned is the official media launch of the Hope Foundation Everest Basecamp Trek which will take place on the 17 August. The trek involves a smattering of Irish celebs trekking to Basecamp Everest and some going on to tackle Island Peak. Basecamp is the official gear supplier for the challenge and will be a hub of activity related to the challenge.
The second floor of Basecamp will also host an alpine/winter mountaineering evening later in the year.
