The Éireman X off-road triathlon is back. Taking place in Courtown, Co Wexford, it consists of a 750m swim, a 10km cycle and a 5km run. But this is a triathlon with a difference. First up, the swim is an open-water sea swim. Next up, the bike course is a technical mountain bike involving plenty of rooty single track and a few river crossings. The run also involves getting wet and plenty of hills – but the forest scenery should at least help to distract you. This year competitors will also have the option of doing a duathlon instead.
