IMRA Winter League

IMRA Winter League

16/01/2010 17:00to13/03/2010 17:00

The year is drawing to a close and the silly season is upon us. Despite the
continued talk of recession you’re more likely to have to punch an extra hole in your belt than loosen it so here is a great idea to work off a few Brussels sprouts.
In case you didn’t think running up hills in the summer time wasn’t enough
of a challenge the Irish Mountain Running Association (IMRA) organises
a Winter League which is a series of five races held in various levitated locations in Leinster from January to March.
Organisers don’t want anyone getting hypothermia or lost so routes try to avoid the boggiest areas, but you will definitely encounter plenty of rough ground and perhaps tougher weather duringthe races.

2010’s races will take place in Howth (16 Jan), Ticknock (30 Jan),
Annacurna (13 Feb), Tibradden (27 Feb) and Crone Woods (13 Mar).
You can enter as an individual or as part of a team with the best three races
from the five counting for your final score. So get your year off to a running
start and check www.imra.ie for details.
