One of the most popular dry suits for watersports, the Palm Sidewinder Torrent (€649.90) is ergonomically cut to fit a seated paddler’s body form.
The addition of a high cut twin seal arrangement allows paddlers to sit in any boat and stay dry no matter what the design of the cockpit is. This sealing ensures no water need get under the spray deck and it is covered to protect from UV damage. The addition of socks will also make sure you have dry, warm feet.
The upper torso of the suit has a kimono cut so is loose under the arms, leading to maximum flexibility and increasing airflow so you won’t overheat.
The XP200 material which the suit is made from is also probably the most breathable, durable and waterproof on the market. XP200 is a four-layer and crucially the closest layer to the skin is a non-absorbing tri-cot knit which dries fast and is comfortable to the touch.
The suit is fitted with a cross shoulder, self-repairing zip. Both the Sidewinder Torrent and the ladies’ version, called the Element come with convenience zips so that you’ll be easily able to answer the inevitable call of nature.
